Yes, and it is included rather than an upgrade. The VFR set covers initial contact, readbacks, position reports, the traffic pattern, non-towered airports and CTAF, Class B, C and D, flight following and radar services, emergencies, and numbers, altimeter and time. The IFR set covers the clearance and what has to be read back, requesting a full route clearance, climb-via departures, void times, holding instructions and the required reports, approach clearances, the missed approach and cancelling IFR in the air. All of it is graded against the AIM, the Pilot/Controller Glossary and the controller's own order, with the paragraph shown.
No. TowerTalk is not an FAA-approved course, it awards no WINGS credit and it issues no certificate. It is practice, plus a graded record you and your instructor can read. Your CFI and your examiner remain the authorities.
