Frequently asked

Is this a real ATC service?

No. It is a practice tool. Frequencies, weather and traffic are for training and must never be used operationally. Real ATC, the AIM and your instructor are the authorities.

Does it know my airport?

Almost certainly. The airport search covers the 4,700 or so public-use airports in the FAA NASR data, towered and non-towered, with their frequencies.

What if I freeze?

That is what it is for. Say nothing and the controller waits; say it wrong and the feedback tells you what the AIM wanted. Nobody else is listening.
